Butterflies, Moths and Other Bugs of Hong Kong
Some local species spotted while waiting for birds. I read a couple of books on butterflies and found them amazing animals. Their life cycle is more dramatic than many other animals and obstacles they face at every stage of their short life made them got my respect. I thought, it would be boring taking photos of them because there is really only one good angle to take a shot of them. But I was wrong. When seeing them blown up on the screen of a computer is so exciting!
I have learnt, that they are very picky and do like only a few flowers around our village. One of them is a very plain looking shrub called, lobelia with its little different colour flowers. Recently, I also discovered the absolute favourite of every species of butterflies and it's litterally a hundred meters away from my house. A big tree, which name I do not know yet, but it bloossoms for two weeks at the end of June. I could have just stand there all morning (when there is the best light) and I could count at least 50 types of butterflies absolutelly savouring on its tiny white flowers.
I am looking forward to the next season as I just upgraded myself to Canon 500mm L/4 and now can have fun taking photos without disturbing them.
I hope you will enjoy my gallery. Please leave a commnet or a thumb-up, to let me know what you think. Cheers.
